博客原本是自由个体。如果许多博客组成为一个协会是否就与原本的博客宗旨背道而驰？最近，本地就冒起了一个新加坡博客协会（联盟？），Association of Bloggers (Singapore)（简称ABS）。

如果我没错，此协会的成立是要加强本土博客彼此的联系。该协会的目标、愿景如下：

Our mission is to -

* To promote and support the positive development of the blogging scene in Singapore, as a distinct form of media; with all the rights and responsibilities that entails, to every citizen.

* To promote professionalism in blogging among members.

* To promote its members by advancing the grassroots media movement generally through activities and events organized.
* Fostering a positive identity with creditability.

* Educating its Members through mutual support and robust internal discussion, by partnering with organizations dedicated to education in the area of technology, methods and standard otherwise, creating educational opportunities for the association and its Members.

* To provide for the interchange and advance of knowledge in the field of blogging.

* To promote social interaction and cohesion among Members.

人们会问该协会的成立是否就只把博客团结起来并为产品或商业活动作促销？在此本人有所保留，因为该协会只是刚起步，就像一个婴儿都还没满月、学会走路。我们和“看戏”的观众需要给这群博客多些时间与耐心。

我较感兴趣的是协会的“博客教育活动”。如果可以把“博客精神”在新加坡发扬光大，也就是说无论本地的男女老少都知道“blog”是什么并拥有自己的博客，那该协会就像一个懂事的大人了。

Philip Craven, IPC (International Paralympic Committee) head honcho, was impressed with the Paralympic Games preparations which Beijing has made. He felt like “over the moon” as the Olympic city was transformed into a Paralympic city in just days after the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.

“The Paralympic Village is just fantastic. We’ve got the very best accommodation, the very best food, good transport.”

Craven was also content with the fact that China had been doing its best to fulfill its promise of making the Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games equally splendid.

“The airport is very important for the people who use wheelchairs and what’s been put in place at the Capital Airport is state-of-the-art,” he said. “In fact the BOCOG has devised certain procedures that we have never seen before. That means when you get off the plane, very quickly after the plane arrives, your chair is waiting for you there. That’s one example.”
