Coca-Cola has a Beijing Olympic theme song called 绾㈤亶鍏ㄧ悆 (can be translated to “Become Famous All Over the World”) and is performed by Taiwanese popular female group - S.H.E (Selina, Hebe, Ella), Wilber Pan (娼樼幃鏌�, Pan Wei Bo) and Hong Kong singing legend, Jacky Cheung (寮犲�﹀弸, Zhang Xue You).

This is rather a catchy tune with the Bird Nest being highlighted a few times and an easy-to-do action and cheering sequence.

China’s McDonald’s has organized an event called “McDonald’s Olympic Cheering Little Champions” some time ago. This competition is held to select 100 children from all around China to grace the Beijing Olympics next year. The above commercial is used to spread the message around and I really like the song and the jingle “Ba ba ba ba ba ba” at the end.

This series of Nike “Anytime” (闅忔椂) commercials are all related to the Beijing Olympics. In the advertisements, you are encouraged to do any sports such as fencing, weightlifting, marathon running, discus throwing, basketball, 100m sprinting and judo anytime, even in a classroom or at the school canteen. In a sense of “Just Do It - Anytime”.

I love the judo part, reminds me of my dating history. Duh.

As Beijing and China are making the Beijing 2008 as a platform to introduce China to people from all over the world, social etiquette in China must be observed and enforced during the Olympics period. As an effort to remind the citizens of China to behave in a socially acceptable way, the government has came up with public service commercials that show the right way to behave in public. In this Olympic etiquette commercial, Chinese handsome actor, Huang Xiao Ming (榛勬檽鏄�), aids a very pretty lady to carry her shopping bags, hail a taxi and play with her…(just see the commercial and you’ll find out).

China’s pride, Liu Xiang, and Taiwan’s pop singer, also Lust, Caution actor, Wong Lee Hom (鐜嬪姏瀹�), teamed up in an Olympic Coca-Cola commercial.

Most people like to watch TV but I’m more inclined towards those breaks between the normal airing of TV shows. Not that I’m using the breaks to go to the toilet, wash the dishes or open my letterbox but rather, watching good commercials during the intervals is pleasure to me.

And this Beijing 2008 Olympics commercial is one of those pleasures. This commercial or short documentary uses the Beijing 2008 (human) logo and the colour red (excessively) to highlight to you that you are watching something about the Olympics and China. Very professionally done and you can feel the spirit of the Olympics right in your heart.
