Bikini Cheerleaders!
Babes August 11th, 2008
Can’t believe Patrick hasn’t posted about the Olympic bikini cheerleaders!
As the beach volleyballers sweat it out during a training session at Beijing鈥檚 Chaoyang Park Beach, the speakers suddenly start blaring out “Mambo No. 5″ and 12 dancers saunter on to the sand, smiles fixed, shoulders shaking to the beat.
China’s cheerleading squads for the Beijing Games have been training up to eight hours a day 鈥 and they promise to dazzle crowds with flips, nunchucks, red flags and folding fans. The only thing the beachside squad has in common with Meares’ bunch are the string bikinis.
“We’re training more than most of these guys,” said squad trainer Vanessa Diaz as the Russian men’s team loped by, waving.
“It’s exhausting, particularly in this heat and humidity.”
The Spanish troupe that performed for the beach volleyball event in Athens got the job to entertain the crowds in Beijing as well but with the proviso the cheerleading team should be half Chinese and that their routines include traditional dances from the host nation.

Amanda Beard Holds Naked Poster, Small Protest Outside Beijing Olympic Village
Swimming, Babes, News August 6th, 2008
Besides playing video games, Miss Amanda Beard is also an animal lover. She made a protest by holding her naked poster for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) outside the main road of the Beijing Olympic Village to voice her no-animal-skin outcry today.
The Chinese authorities did their best to limit the impact of her protest, shutting down a press conference which PETA had planned on the terrace of a hotel overlooking the ‘Water Cube’ Olympic swimming venue.
After police turned organisers away from the hotel citing ’safety concerns’, Ms Beard was forced to present her message from the side of the main road outside the Athlete’s Village.
Ms Beard, 26, said she had no intention of upsetting the Chinese authorities, but wanted to convey her anti-fur message in China which is the world’s leading fur exporter.
The message got across, sort of.

Chinese Diving Dream Team Tests The Water Cube, All Eyes On Guo Jingjing
Babes, News August 5th, 2008
Guo Jingjing
The Chinese Golden Diving Dream Team had their first practice at the National Aquatics Center, Water Cube, before the Beijing Olympics today. The Chinese diving team is hot fave this time round as it took home six golds during the 2004 Athens Olympics, beating other teams from mainland China.
The Chinese divers, who just arrived in Beijing this morning, could not wait to train in the Water Cube as they walked into the venue at 3:30. Olympic and world champion, the “diving queen” Guo Jingjing was the most eye-catching figure.
At the age of 27, the eldest diver in the squad, Guo is still an overwhelming favorite on the springboard. She looked quite in form and trained one hour on the 3m springboard.
On homesoil, they will dive (fight) more fiercely in Beijing 2008.
