Everytime I will see this logo again in the future I will probably think about this cartoon =.= And I thought this site is for olympics fans?

  2. michael | October 22nd, 2007 at 1:52 pm

not cool, it is comics like these that spread such blatantly racist stereotypes

  3. Dustin | October 30th, 2007 at 9:16 pm

Wow, this is just plain aweful.

    Bad execution of concept guys.

I give you a zero in taste, technique.

However, in overall, blatant, racism, a 4.

    Yeah, just a 4.

  4. joe | November 2nd, 2007 at 12:56 pm

dude its a joke. Lay off a little. ” I give you a zero in taste” stfu

  5. Petr | November 16th, 2007 at 10:58 pm

It tells a very sad story and it is very revealing about China. On one side of Beijing is celebration of humanity and on the other forced labor camp (Lao-gai) - torture, killing, harvesting of organs from Falun Gong people… sad story in history…

BTW, where are the pictures from? Can I use them freely?

  6. Jason | November 19th, 2007 at 9:25 am

It’s simply meant to be funny, not racist. Nice way to blow everything you see out of proportion.

  7. Johnathan | November 19th, 2007 at 10:24 pm

I think accusations of racism are a bit extreme. It’s satire, not racism.

  8. jpcosta | November 25th, 2007 at 5:02 pm

    I think its bad taste…
    I don’t like it

  9. Frank | November 25th, 2007 at 9:26 pm

Life in China is a bitch - that’s reality - can’t handle it - don’t look. Quit trying to be so politically correct and look at the truth! Everyone doesn’t live like in the USA - and the future is not so bright there anymore either!

  10. Smo Huffmister | November 26th, 2007 at 9:43 am

    Awesome! pretty funny…

  11. Mike | November 29th, 2007 at 11:39 am

Whomever stumbled here with SU and are unhappy with the cartoon, instead of spending that extra time posting your feelings, just press that little SU button and move onto another page. Oh, and if you don’t have SU, um… get it?

  12. Jacob | December 2nd, 2007 at 9:44 pm

Those who are uncomfortable with the cartoon should get a grip on reality. China does not have a free society.

    Great job,
Having the idea is the first step (hard enough)
but drawing and publishing (having the “Guts”) is awesome.
    I WANT MORE…..

  14. Luke | December 3rd, 2007 at 5:25 am

@ all the politicaly correct whiners: you’re missing the point. It’s not about racism, The cartoonist is trying to make a point. A political one. Against repression and for people’s freedom.

  15. me | December 3rd, 2007 at 7:46 am

i think the whole point is that the logo has a hole int he middle of the guys chest. obviously there must be an explanation for it. ahem. bam!

  16. Rogueboy | December 10th, 2007 at 2:42 am

I dont necessarily find this racist, its not saying Asian countries have execution squads, I think some people need to re-evaluate what racism is.

  17. Hugo | March 12th, 2008 at 10:02 pm

Hey! this comic is out of context… i am missing a few words explaining the facts about this comic
the thing is about the massive violation of human rights in Beijing
    i think it`s from www.humanrightstorch.org
there is the explanation to this
and there is a report “bloody harvest” regarding the thousands of people killed alive to sell them organs since 2002 and they are mostly falun gong practitioners that believe in truthfulness compassion and forbeance

there is a newspaper with a lot of info too
    http://en.epochtimes.com/change_edition.html

    hope you read this

  18. Jose Ramirez | March 15th, 2008 at 1:21 am

This is not about racism, but HUMAN RIGHTS, Just because in the US dead penalty is legal it does not mean that it is right. China has the first place in executions like this, and they will host a world event that is supposed to highlight the best of humankind, that is the real joke. And waht about China’s implication in the masacres of Darfur in Sudan. I won’t watch anything of the Olympic games, that criminal goverment does not deserve any respect for such an event that after all is only going to give them more money to continue with their atrocities. By the way anyone wondering what’s happening in Tibet.

  19. Ting | April 9th, 2008 at 10:27 pm

Meybe you can joke the chinese goverment with the JO, but you cann’t use a chinese symbol to send the bad signal, beacuse this chinese symbol is used by these chinese and this symbol doesn’t belong the chinese goverment but belong to these chinese, it’s unfaire for those chinese in china.
Our working is to resolve the HUMAN RIGHTS problem in china but not to make the hate between thse chinese and the tibetain.
Thank you to continu, but take attention and respecter the others peoples.

  20. Sad and annoyed person | April 19th, 2008 at 2:18 am

I agree with Ting. You are basically stereotyping all Chinese people. We are trying to resolve our human right problem but has any of the other nations worldwide tried to rule a country with a 1.3 billion population PEACEFULLY? I would love to see you do that. Also you are obstructing our development into a fully developed country. We all know that developed countries have stabilized government, economy, social life, but why is everyone trying to prevent China from reaching this? Don’t we all want this or are the western countries just afraid? I’ve read all the news about the relay… umm aren’t the pro-Tibet people too, full of shit? Of course everyone just HAS to badmouth China. THOUGH, WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THE CONCEPT OF BEING A FAN OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES TO THIS PAGE? Pshh. Bullocks. Jose Ramirez, I am fine with you not watching the games, I just hope you never get the chance to visit China. =D Oh yeah and remember to check all the goods that you’re going to buy from now on and at your house to see if they’re made in China, cause you really don’t want to support the Chinese government right? Have fun with that. If you throw out half of the contents of your house; the more the merrier~! I feel really ashamed of Tibet and personally wouldn’t care if it went independent (as long as China can take back everything is has done for them; i.e. hmm pay us back for the railroad system for example?). Of course after when Tibet has received its independence and all is at peace in Sudan and Myanmar, who the hell is going to support all those countries? Are they going to be pitied upon by Western countries, who then feel all and mighty for banishing the evilness of ex-communist countries? America is in a really nice state itself, I don’t think the facade that it has drawn on China to cover up its own mess will last long.

I hope other nations will know not to cross the line with China, with all the power it has. Looking back 15 years ago maybe China would be ignored because of its then weak status. Though today the world really needs China. Without it we wouldn’t be able to solve some major diplomatic crises eg; North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar, etc. Since the US is falling down to its own shit, China is needed to fuel the global economy.
Our side has to be listened to too!

  21. martin dimitrov | April 23rd, 2008 at 8:07 pm

I’m tired of this anti-chinese propagnadha. You can see it from miles that it is an attack against this fast developing country that will problably break the American status quo and thus easing up their leash.
Of course, I’m not justifuing acts of violence in Tibet, but I’ll say to people in Tibet this: America won’t save you, their foreign policies are even more opressive and they will turn your country to a military base to control the region and manipulate China. I’m from Eastern Europe and people here overthrew communists in the hope that USA will come to the rescue and offer a better life, but what- we are as poor as hell, American ambassadors come here and act like medieval landlords and manipulate the economy, state administration and foreign policy while the prices get over the roof and people who graduated from the universities die in mysery. If this is “libarating” I sure don’t want to be libaerating.

  22. flotsam | April 28th, 2008 at 9:59 pm

There is certainly nothing racist about this.

You could say that this is a piece of political satire portraying the PRC totalitarian government. But then it could be argued that this is a little unfair as things have moved on since the days of the late 20th century - which is also be correct. To which someone else would argue that conditions, human rights and many other matters in China are not the same as in countries such as the USA - and that would be correct.

You could go on mud-slinging over this for a long time.

If it is an accurate portrayal of the PRC, then it is no joke. If it is inaccurate then it is unfair and smearing is not a joke.

The short answer is it’s in poor taste.

  23. CHINA FOR EVER | August 12th, 2008 at 5:23 pm

i think this cartoon is so frickin racist. listen up people! China has done hell of a lot for the olympics, and all the shitty publicity is screwing everything up. Dont piss China off! As for “ONE WORLD ONE DREAM FREE TIBET” - its a piece of shit. Tibet isnt a fucken country! its been part of china since for ever. people! know about china’s history before you talk shit.
Stop putting up gay crap like this cartoon- if you know nothing about wats really going on in china. shut the hell up.

  24. BEIJING 2OO8! | August 19th, 2008 at 3:15 pm

100% agree with the person above!

if you really think tibet should become independent
then why dont all you take off all the union jacks on the flags?? wtf is a queen doing in the 21st century?

you took over australia yes? killed aboringine in thousands and you are criticising china which is merely trying to defend for its OWN people

so don fkn go around criticising china about human rights. you are no better!

  25. J Blane | August 25th, 2008 at 4:05 am

Well, it may be funny, but its not true. that’s not how the logo came to be. Some news channels where I live explained how it was created–the logo is actually the word/character of the word Beijing, in Chinese. They just made it look more like a person.

There is no shooting. But its funny tho!!

  26. Olympicfan | August 26th, 2008 at 10:13 pm

    This is lame!

I love this year’s summer Olympic in Beijing. It’s one of the best IMHO!

  27. john | September 19th, 2008 at 2:02 am

it has got some truth to it tho, in a way

  28. george | October 2nd, 2008 at 11:10 pm
