If infectious diseases such as SARS occur (touchwood) in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Beijing is more than ready to fight against any outbreak.

By the time the Games begin in August 2008, the city would have 6,350 beds and 144 hospitals equipped to diagnose and treat infectious diseases like bird flu and SARS.

I’m sure China will be effective in combating SARS or any other diseases this time round.

Subway Cave-in, Four Dead

News April 2nd, 2007

A subway or train line that was constructed for the Beijing Olympics had given way and four workers lost their lives in this freak accident. The construction company waited for 8 hours before reporting to the officials.

The bodies of three workers who apparently suffocated after the tunnel collapse had been recovered by Sunday, the official Xinhua News Agency said. The body of a fourth worker could not immediately be recovered, it said. Two workers remained missing.

Hope that the missing workers are OK.
