Being the host of next year Olympics, Beijing has stepped up the effort to eliminate bad English that appears on signs or anywhere in public places.

In preparation for the 2008 Olympics being hosted there, Beijing officials have decided to eradicate bad English translations from public venues, including 鈥淒eformed Man鈥 for handicapped restrooms and 鈥淪how Mercy to the Slender Grass,鈥 reports the Wall Street Journal.

Bad English is only bad when it is funny.
