Handball, News February 6th, 2007
Germany managed to lead Poland by 5 points to win the world handball championships. The final score was 29-24 and Denmark took the third place.
Fritz suffered a foot injury four minutes into the second half and was forced to leave the game with Germany leading 20-14. The hosts took a 21-14 lead before Poland went on a 7-1 run to close the gap to 22-21. But Pascal Hens scored two straight goals to give Germany a three goal lead and put them on the winning track.
Germany came in second (Men) at the 2004 Athens Games so they are probably eyeing for a gold at Beijing Olympics this time round.
